UK Property Investment

There has always been a use of some sort for property and there always will be. Everybody needs a place to live and everybody needs a place to work.

Even when it comes to derelict properties, they can just as quickly be reconfigured and reinvented and all of a sudden, they too have a use.

For the wealthy, there are a number of different asset classes available to them and because, for the most part, their money is held in banks, the banks tend to give them financial products to keep their money safe.

With property, it adds diversification to your portfolio away from the usual money markets.

Stability:

One of the main benefits of property is that it has very low correlation with other asset classes and it’s very stable.

While the stock market may jump up and down, that will not usually affect the housing market.

There is also the benefit of wealth preservation, with property being a physical asset it will always have worth and over the long term if you were to buy a property and eventually hand it down to your grandchildren it will usually maintain it’s value.

Why is the UK a good place to invest in property?

With the current value of Sterling compared to the Dollar, there are few places in the world right now to get better value for money than the UK as a foreign investor.

The UK is also a very liquid market generally speaking, meaning that for good-quality properties, there will always be someone who wants to buy it and has the facilities to do so.

The UK property market is very active, especially in London where properties that are priced correctly won’t stick around for very long.

This makes the UK an excellent place to invest in property because it means that as an investor, if you need to sell for whatever reason, it can be done quickly.

From a global perspective there is fair and equitable law in the UK, so all of the rights of landlords and tenants are enshrined in the Landlord and Tenant Act.

Your title is guaranteed as the owner of the property, it’s on the land registry and is guaranteed by the government, so it will not be taken away.

The UK property market is also transparent. What this means is that the market is well-communicated and if a property is available for cheaper than it should be, the market will quickly correct that.

For long term investors, UK property is a safe and stable investment.

If you’re looking to make a quick capital gains return, you might get lucky but that is extremely rare and for the most part you have to be prepared to hold your investment for a medium to long term to make money.

Legal considerations

All buyers are welcome in the UK, no matter where they come from, but everyone has to go through Anti-Money Laundering checks.

A number of our clients at Curzon Land are PEP (Politically Exposed Persons), which describes anyone who is or is related to a politician, and they have to go through enhanced due diligence checks.

But, this is all very standard and it’s just important when going through these checks to make sure you have ready passport copies, proof of address, source of funds and anything else that is requested.

Ultimately, investing in UK property offers a stable and secure environment with promising long-term returns.

At Curzon Land, we specialise in guiding our clients through every step of their property investment, ensuring a hassle-free experience from acquisition to ownership.

Whether you’re looking to diversify your portfolio or secure a legacy for future generations, we’re here to help. Contact us at cgreen@curzonland.com or on +44 (0) 7948 979 490 to discover how you can leverage the benefits of the UK property market.
