Commercial transaction costs and yields
The UK market is unusual in some respects in that market yields are calculated and quoted inclusive of all standard purchase costs. Purchase costs in the UK are typically 6.8% which includes 5.0% for Stamp Duty, 1.0% buying agent’s fee and the rest goes to legal & other. Having yields calculated in this way enables the market to compare opportunities on the same basis. Curzon Land will typically charge the standard 1.0% +VAT to the purchaser.
